I was in San Jose for a convention. Since I was unable to go to the inauguration, I was happy to be out of town because it seemed like all of DC was shut down for the whole day. Luckily, I was able to catch most of the event on the television before having to go over to the convention center.
I'm very proud of Barack and all that he has accomplished. I very much believe that his leadership will provide a stark contrast to what we've had for the last 8 years. I had never watched an inauguration before, so it was interesting to see how the process worked and the parade of people that came to the stage ahead of the new president.
