September 11 Attacks - Where Jared Miller was

On the morning of 911 when the attacks occurred, I was in my dorm room at college. My roommate and I were getting ready to go to class together and I was running late, so my roommate flipped on the news. I remember him saying some sort of obscenity and I came out to see what was going on. We watched together stunned as we watched the news coverage of what was going on. At that point, the second plane had just hit the twin towers, so they were just starting to believe that it wasn't an accident, and there was a real possibility that terrorism was involved.

As the day continued, we were let out of our classes around noon, and there was a meeting held for all students in the chapel. I just remember how shocked I and all of my friends were, and how somber everyone was during that day and the days to follow. The other thing I remember about that day was how beautiful the day was. I'm not sure why I remember that, but there were no clouds in the sky.

September 11 Attacks: 09/11/2001
The 9/11 attacks were a series of coordinated suicide attacks by al-Qaeda upon the United States. On that morning, 19 Islamist terrorists affiliated with al-Qaeda hijacked four commercial passenger jet airliners. The hijackers intentionally crashed two of the airliners into the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in New York City, killing everyone on board and many others working in the buildings. Both buildings collapsed within two hours, destroying at least two nearby buildings and damaging others. The hijackers crashed a third airliner into the Pentagon. The fourth plane crashed into a field near Shanksville in rural Somerset County, Pennsylvania, after some of its passengers and flight crew attempted to retake control of the plane, which the hijackers had redirected toward Washington, D.C. There are no survivors from any of the flights.
